LCD Plugin v2.0 Released!
LCD Lab brings together medical physicists, researchers, and students dedicated to advancing task-based image quality assessment in medical imaging. Our work bridges the gap between theoretical models and practical clinical protocols, with a strong focus on Low Contrast Detectability (LCD), phantom design, and modern software tools.
Develop open and reproducible tools for automated image quality analysis.
Optimize diagnostic protocols to balance dose efficiency and image performance.
Promote task-based assessment methods, including human and model observer studies.
We actively supervise and mentor students pursuing their Bachelor's (Triennale), Master's (Magistrale), and Medical Physics Residency (Scuola di Specializzazione in Fisica Medica) degrees.
We offer thesis projects covering a wide range of topics, including:
Development and validation of task-based image quality algorithms
ImageJ plugin and MATLAB tool development for medical physics applications
Phantom design for quality assurance
Protocol optimization and low contrast detectability studies
